Back to "Normal" Again

Everything is back in the swing of things again. Brandon is back at work and he'll be out in the field again the week after next. I'm back at school, although taking much easier classes than I'm used to. Intro to Art, Intro to Theater, Intro to Computer Science, and U.S. History. It's a pretty nice laid back schedule I've got this term. After this term, which ends in March, I'll only need to take three more classes to get my bachelors and I plan to take those online making it so that I'll be graduating either in May or July. I'm so looking forward to being done with school, at least for awhile. It will be so nice to not have to worry about that anymore. I feel like my whole life has been leading up to getting my college education and now I've finally completed it.

The baby is doing well, he gets the hiccups now which is a strange feeling. Kind of like when you have a muscle spasm but one that goes on for much longer and is in your abdomen. The baby room is starting to really come together, we got the rest of the border up today and I got a sage green sheet for the futon along with some blue throw pillows. The clothes we have are put away and organized according to age, sheets are on the crib, picture frames are hung, and the shelves are painted. It's crazy to think that we only have nine weeks left. I hope we're ready!

So life has returned to a normal schedule of school, work, homework, and weekends. But we will have a son in two months! That's definitely not very normal for us. Ah, it's a crazy life!

Trip to Boulder

Hello all! Well I wasn't going to visit this summer but I decided that two weeks without school was way too long to not be doing anything. I would end up driving both myself and Brandon crazy. Especially with this not having my period thing, I'm being way too easily irritable and I'm not even like that on a monthly basis. Soooo I'm going to be in Boulder from Sunday July 22nd to Monday July 30th. It's not a long trip but I should get to see some people. My family has a new puppy also, he's a little shepherd-lab mix named Jeter so if anyone wants to meet the little man I'm sure we can arrange it! No major plans while I'm there, just want to have a nice visit!

On another note, I am very confused about this whole missing my period thing. Today I am officially 10 days late. The last time I was late I had just gone of birth control a month ago and after 20 days I had a normal period. Painful at first, but no heavier than normal. This time there are a few things that are different about it. For one my poor boobs are super sensitive and sore, also my lower back is sore and I'm much more tired than usual. I already took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I'm hoping that I just tested too early. I'm going to test again at the end of this week. I'm trying not to get too hopeful because I would like to avoid disappointment. In the mean time it's driving me crazy not knowing!

Well that's about all for now. Brandon just got home so I've got to go feed him! Hope you all are doing well! Maybe I'll be seeing you in Boulder soon!

Ahh what a nice day. I was in a strange cranky/not cranky mood, it was weird. But then, Brandon called and now I feel rejuvenated, like I can make it through another week. We talked about everything we needed to talk about, he's doing so well. Ok I usually try to be relatively modest but when it comes to my man I can't help myself sometimes. So, here it goes: They do this thing out there called peers where they all rank each other from 1st to 15th and they each get one blue card and two pink cards. They give the blue card to the person they feel is doing the best and the pink cards to people they think need a lot of work. So... Brandon got ranked in 4th place and got 2 blue cards from people who, according to the Tack, were well respected for their opinions. I was so proud of him. This Monday he goes into the field again and they're going to get a go or no go depending on how the field exercises go this week. Honestly, I'm not that worried about it, and hopefully I'm right. Oh, and, he called my mom for Mothers Day. That doesn't sound that impressive but he waited in line for a total of 3 hours to get a phone card and call me. So I'm really happy about that also.

Other than that one of my kitties is allergic to fleas! That just sucks, so I'm giving him B vitamins to keep the fleas away (much cheaper and better than that poison they call Frontline) and trying to keep him from licking himself too much since he seems to have little to no self control. He licked one of his legs raw, it's bad. But, I have my little aloe plant and I'm putting it on him every couple of hours. I also bought a sleeper for him but he keeps getting out of it. So hopefully he'll continue to improve. My crazy family, I don't need to go to veterinary school to be a vet... Well I think I'm going to continue to enjoy my lazy day before I start going crazy studying for finals next week.

I live in the middle of a soap opera without all the sex. Well, not as much sex at least since most of the husbands around here are at war. That throws a wrench in things. But honestly, these people are ridiculous. They call the state on each other for how they take care of their kids, they think their dogs are being poisoned, and they call the MP's to file harassment charges on each other. I feel like Switzerland. On another note, I met a neighbor of mine who has lived here for the past year but I didn't know because she keeps to herself like me. Who can blame her with all the shit that happens in this neighborhood. Well I talked to her until almost 5 am last night... or this morning rather. I guess that means we got along pretty well. It figures, she is 6 years older than me, has 3 kids, and her husband has been in for 10 years. I swear I can't get along with anyone close to my age!

Brandon should be calling again this weekend, the weeks have been going by relatively quickly so that's nice. I figured out how to graduate with my bachelors by December of this year. I'm excited for this summer when Brandon gets back so we can go to the beach and Busch Gardens. I'm excited about our plans to try for a baby relatively soon. Don't tell my mom though... she'll find out soon enough. :) I know I always say that I'm just so happy and it probably sounds corny. But I swear, I'm living the perfect life out here. And now, I need to shower my perfect self so I can do my perfect homework and take my perfect dogs on a walk. I hope everyone's life is as nice as mine.

I miss Brandon, I don't want him to be gone. I don't want him to come home for three days and then leave again. I don't want him to be deployed six months out of every year for the next two to three years. It's honestly kind of depressing. But it's ok, everything will turn out just fine. I really wouldn't have it any other way, Brandon is the love of my life and having to be without him for a little bit is worth it in the end.

On another note, my puppy is lighting up my world. He's adorable, sweet, smart, and so nice and loving. I really like him lots. Daisy is really happy about him to. We've been working on sit which he understands but he doesn't do every time, down which he's starting to catch on to, and come which is going pretty well. He gets how to do it and all, now it's just getting him to come even when he's got something else going on. We've also been going on walks every day and he's figuring that out really well. I'm trying to get him trained up as well as possible before Brandon gets home so he can come home to a well behaved pup.

Tomorrow I'm going with my friend to get her puppy that she bought. Then I'm going to go by my other friend's house to visit. I'll have to make sure I take the dogs out, they have way too much energy! I have a basket of dog toys that Conrad has pulled out all over my living room. He's got to have at least 4 toys out at once. It's like having a toddler around! Sunday I'm just going to hang out and study for finals. I need to take Conrad out and about, maybe we'll make a trip to PetsMart for some socialization. Then next week is my last week of school. After that weekend Brandon is home for his little weekend. I still have some hope that his Phase II will be postponed but that's probably not the best way to think about it.

Well I am going to go do some Java studying and then go to bed. He will be home, it won't be long, and everything will be back to the way it's supposed to be.

It was exciting when he called, he was all happy and I'm so proud of him. He'll be home sometime this week, I'm hoping for Monday. Then he'll have some time off before he goes on to phase two. But this means we'll be here for at least another year. It also means I can now figure out where I'm going to school in January. I'm thinking of UNCP and going for the bachelor of science in nursing. But that's completly different then my previous plan so I have to look into it more. I wouldn't want to be a nurse, but I could do that and then get a masters and be a teacher. We'll see...

I hope Brandon calls soon, I need to tell him that Russian is the only language that garuntees us being stationed in Colorado. That and so I can ask him how their paperwork stuff is going and see if he thinks he'll be home tomorrow.

Alright, I need to go shopping and get my eyebrows done, clean the house, dry my hair, feed myself, and call the Alanizes about babysitting next week.

Well Brandon leaving isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I miss him a whole lot but I'm keeping myself busier than I thought I would. Let's see, he's been gone for 12 days and the course is 21 days and then they stay a few extra. So... he'll be done with the course in 9 days and he'll be back home in about 12 or 13 days. That means I'm half way through! It also means I get to find out if he made it or not after this week! I had a dream last night that he didn't make it and it was nice because it didn't seem real at all so when I woke up I thought about how I think he will make it because it seemed wrong in my dream when he came home early.

Babysitting is going alright. My dogs love having a baby around, I don't know why but they seem to enjoy it. Maybe it's all the extra spilled food... I do wish I had all of the baby stuff to make it easier such as a car seat and a high chair but that's ok. I'll just nap today when she does instead of getting to hang out at Natalie's house. I'm tired anyways.

Lindsay, Natalie and I started going to the gym yesterday and we're planning on going everyday so that's exciting. I want to go look online for workout plans that would help each of us as far as what we want to accomplish so I'm going to try to do that today. And my math homework, and carve the pumpkins, and do my arm and ab exercises, and walk the dogs. Then I should be good to go work out with everyone. Now I just have to figure out how my schedule is going to work when Brandon is here because he'll be wanting to spend time with me... I'll probably see if he wants to come with us to they gym and he can go lift in the other room. We'll see.

Ok updating this and changing a poopy diaper at the same time is a bit difficult so I'm going to go...

So what I want to write about is Brandon's upcomming departure for three weeks. WLC was only two weeks and the next one is three. That's not bad, just slightly annoying. But instead, I'll fill out the survey Emma had done in her journal.

1.) What curse word do you use the most?:
I'm not much of a curser as far as normal curse words are concerned. I like to sayings such as fudge muffin, dingleberry it, etc.

2.) What is your craziest fear? My fears are pretty realistic, mostly just people dying. Particularly Brandon and then my parents. Sometimes me, like when I thought I was dying of food poisening the other day.

3.) Who on your Myspace "Top 8" do you talk to the most?:
Ha ha, Emma doesn't have a myspace. I talk to Natalie the most, that's why she's number one.

4.) What time is your alarm clock set for?:
It's not set, cause I don't have to wake up at any particular time. Woo hoo!

5.) What color is your room?:
White with beige carpets, gotta love the military housing.

6.) Flip flops or sneakers?:
Sneakers, in case I have to run.

7.) Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?:
I'd rather take the picture, but I like being in pictures too!

8.) What was the last movie you watched?
Um, that one that we watched... with natalie and jeremy, people on a plane. Hijaked? yeah I think that's what it was called.

9.) Do any of your friends have children?:
All of them out here do. None of them in Colorado do.

10.) Has anyone ever called you lazy?:
Brandon tells me I'm a lazy bum, which is true sometimes. So that's ok.

11.) Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep faster?:
Does wine count? Sometimes I take benedryl but only if I'm actually sick.

12.) What CD is currently in your CD player?:
Garth Brooks of course, I love cowgirl's saddle!

13.) Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk?:
Chocolate

14.) Has anyone told you a secret this week?
Nope not that I know of

15.) Have you ever given someone a tattoo?:
Yeah, the cool ones that wash off in a week or so.

16.) Who was the last person you called/texted?:
Natalie

17.) Do you think people talk about you behind your back?:
Probably some do, hopefully not to many.

18.) Did you watch cartoons as a child?:
Yep, I watched Ninja Turtles, Sesame Street, Smurfs, The Magic School Bus...

19.) Are any of your grandparents still alive?:
Just one grandma left. I miss my Grandma Partridge. Never met the grandparents, well technically I met one of them but that was before I turned one.

20.) Are you shy around the opposite sex?:
Nope

21.) What movie do you know every line to?:
None of them, I don't watch movies enough to know them that well.

22.) Do you own any band t-shirts?
Travis Tritt and Brad Paisley

23.) What is your favorite salad dressing?:
Cesar or ranch.

24.) Do you read for fun?:
Yes

25.) Do you cry a lot?:
Depends, but I am pretty emotional. Crying is good, it lets you get things out, I like crying sometimes. But if you cry too much your eyeballs will fall out.

27.) Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop?:
Both.

28.) Are you currently wanting any piercings or tattoos?
I am going to get a tattoo at some point, probably when I find a clean place that I trust and someone to join me.

29.) What is the weather like?:
It's cooling down! I'm so excited! And by cool I mean low 80s but hey that's improvement!

30.) Would you ever date someone with tattoos?
I married someone with two tattoos... so I guess yes then.

31.) Is sex before marriage wrong?:
Because my opinion would be the right one?

32.) When was the last time you slept on the floor?:
No clue, it's been a while. I almost slept on the bathroom floor during the food poisoning incident but I managed to get to the bed.

33.) How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
I'm a wimp, I seriously need at least 7 hours. It's kind of sad.

35.) Are your days full and fast-paced?:
No, they are full of homework and house cleaning and friends when I can find time, but not fast paced.

36.) Do you pay attention to calories on the back of packages?:
I don't think I have ever read the calories on the back of a package in my entire life.

37.) Do you have regrets?
Not really, I've done things I could regret but I don't because they didn't really cause any damage.

38.) Are you picky about spelling and grammar?:
Spelling, no I can't spell. Grammar, sometimes I give people a hard time, especially Brandon.

39.) Have you ever been to Six Flags or Cedar Point?:
Yep

40.) Have you ever taken drugs?:
Yes, but only pot which should be legal and taxed to high hell anyways

41.) Do you like cottage cheese?:
Ew no, it has the texture of regurgitated food and tastes like, well, not much.

42.) Do you sleep on your side, stomach, or back?:
side usually, sometimes back. never stomach.

43.) Have you ever bid on something from ebay?:
Nope

44.) Do you enjoy getting hugs?:
Only from people I really care about. Otherwise it's all awkward.

45) What was the last song you sang out loud?:
Cowgirl's Saddle-Garth Brooks

46) What is your favorite TV show?:
Depends, I like home improvement stuff and my guilty pleasure is relality tv shows.

47) Which celebrity dead or alive would you want to have lunch with?:
I don't really do celebrities, maybe Garth Brooks.

48) Last time you had butterflies in your stomach?:
When Brandon called yesterday and he was talking about how much he missed me.

49) Do you currently have a crush?
I married my crush, life is good.

50) What're some things you wish you had?:
A truck for Brandon, a knowledge of where I'm going to need to transfer to finish school, an idea of what path is the best path to take right now. Oh and a different house with a nice backyard where all our friends kids could play... ok there's lots of other things I want but those are some.

School starts today. My Chemistry book was over $200, that's ridiculous. No wonder people don't like science. But we have sold all but two of our books that we used to have so that means we haven't lost quite as much money. So, Chemistry tonight, great... I got a B in Calculus III which is upsetting because now I don't have a 4.0 so I'll have to get all A's this term so that I can transfer to Arizona with good grades and all.

Cassie is supposed to be comming this Wednesday for a few weeks. This weekend we're going to the beach on Saturday, I'm sooo excited about that, love the beach! We have a friends's 1 year old's birthday party on Saturday too, but we're going to miss that. We may go to a wedding in Ohio in a few weeks but we haven't decided yet. We'll see. Anyways, just upset that school is starting, now I have to think again.

My mom and brother are in Mexico right now. I'm so upset that I couldn't go. If my mom had told me earlier I may have been able to find reasonable tickets but considering she told me the day before she left, all the tickets were up to at least $1200 and that's going through Mexico City which isn't the best place to be going through right now. I miss the trash man comming around on his donkey every morning yelling "Bassura!" I miss my Aunt's day care and the lizards that you can catch if you're fast enough. I miss my family there, my cousin Lore had a baby boy just a few days ago. I miss tacos at Paco's taco stand with Paco and his wife. I miss the street dogs following you around and the market place that's always full of good deals and people. I miss our doctor who loves the shortbread cookies we bring him each time we go there. I miss my cousin's ranch with his sheep and his hunting dogs, I miss riding in the back of the truck. I wish I was there, but we will be going in March to see my cousin Aileen's wedding. I guess I can handle waiting a little longer. I know my Mom is loving it and I hope my brother is too. I can't wait to show Brandon what it's like there. But for now I got someone to cover my afternoon shift not this Saturday but the next one so we can go to the beach. Plus tickets from Arizona are cheaper to Mexico, and I may just catch a ride down with my Grandma... I'll be close enough to the border.

Oh yeah, will someone tell me how I change my smiley face to something else, it's kinda boring. I did it before but I completly forgot how to.

The move to Arizona is now in the for sure category unless something very strange and totally unpredictable occurs. Our report date is in January but we should be able to report up to 90 days early which would be the beginning of October. We want to report ASAP because Brandon's unit will supposedly be gone by September and instead of being transfered to another unit we would rather get to Arizona and settle in there. So, although I'm never sure enough to say that anything is happening without a doubt, we see no reason why we won't be in Arizona by October. Arizona seems like it will be great; good weather if not a little hot but DRY which is so much better, we'll have mountains again which we've been missing, the Baja Penninsula is only an hour away, and we can make it to Colorado or LA in only one day!

Right now we are kinda just doing what we've been doing. We signed up for school but only Fall I since it ends in September. Brandon starts NBC school next week. Brandon jumped twice in the last two weeks so now he's at 11 or 12 jumps total and so he has enough to go to Jump Master School, but they don't have any airborne stuff at Huachuca which is one of the few things we don't like. Supposedly next week there's an open tailgate jump where instead of jumping out the doors they lower the tailgate on the plane and jump out of there. Brandon would love to do that jump but he sprained his ankle on the last one and got tangled with someone on the one before that...

Everything else is going well, dogs are good, cats are good. Today is our last day of music appreciation class, woo hoo! Hope everyone's doing well!
